What
is Virtual Web Hosting?
Commerce
Blvd specializes in Virtual Web Hosting which
means that you can find a home for your web site on our active SUN web
servers and establish a presence on the internet. We can help register
your own domain name which will become your unique address on the
World Wide Web (ie: yourname.com). However, owning your own domain name does not suggest that you
are renting web space for a web site. Even though you may own a domain
name, you must have your domain name hosted in order for your web
site to be visible on the World Wide Web. See our Web

Note: If you change internet providers or web hosts, you will not have to announce a new email address
(you@yourname.com will remain yours, regardless).

Can I have
my own domain name?
Yes, you can check to see if a
domain name has been taken yet, and reserve domain names here. Commerce
Blvd's Domain Name Manager allows you to maintain complete control
over all your domains.

Do you offer dial-up internet access?
No, you will need local internet access in
order to maintain your web site and retrieve email addressed to your
site. Providing a specialized service means that we do not have hundreds
of modems to maintain, enabling us to devote more time to our customers
and to the addition of enhancements to the entire site. Our SUN
Microsystem web servers are connected to the internet via dual
OC48 lines to ensure a high level of performance.

you offer web page design services?
Yes, we offer web
design and site management. If you are using PowerCommerce or SoftCart
software, there are templates that you can utilize, as well.

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan,
there is a $15 fee for each account downgrade.

Yes. A number of our customers have
transferred domains to our service. You can save time and money, by managing all of your domains from this site. Includes email notification of domains about to expire, an online account control panel to manage all your domain names and more.

What
is propagation?
Once your domain name has been registered (or
transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 72-hours before it
is active. All internet providers must update their records (DNS tables)
to reflect new site locations. This is called propagation.

is the fee for domain registration?
The cost for a
domain name registration depends on the extension (for example .com, .net or .org) and the amount of time you register it for. You can purchase a name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of up to ten years. Check to see if a domain name has

Is
6000/MB of data transfer going to be enough to support my web site?
Our experience has shown that
6000MB/month
will be more than enough bandwidth for the average web site. Depending
on the quantity and sizes of your files, this could support many
thousands of hits per month. Note that only 1%-2% of our customers
have exceeded the 6000MB of data transfer threshold. Although our Start
Up Plan accommodates 6000MB of data transfer, and also we have several
others that offer even more (up to 20,000MB data
transfer).

How
do I transfer files to my web site?
Files must be transferred to the web server
via File Transport Protocol (FTP). If you have a PPP internet account
and need FTP software, you can download a program for either the PC or
Mac from our site. Internet providers such as AOL, CompuServe, and
Prodigy may have a built-in FTP interface. An FTP
tutorial is available.

Will
I have unlimited access to update my pages?
You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a
day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own
computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.

Can
multiple domains point to the same HTML files?
Yes, we offer a "Domain
Pointer Service" service whereby additional domain names can
point to an existing web hosting account or within any sub directory of
the same account.

Can
I use my account for commercial purposes?
Yes, you can use your account for commercial
purposes. The World Wide Web has become a most efficient and cost-effective means of making information available to the users of the internet community. If desired, secure processing is available from our Professional and up plans. which provides an environment whereby payment information (such as a credit card number) can be transmitted from web browser to web server in an encrypted mode.

I resell space within my own account?
Yes. You can resell space within your
account. However, you will be responsible for its content.

you accept international orders?
Yes. We are pleased to have customers around
the world and we're as close as your computer. If desired, we can host non-US domain name extensions.

What
contract and payment terms are available?
We require a minimum 3 month contract,
however longer contracts are available at intervals of 6, 12 and 24
months. Commerce Blvd, Inc. accepts VISA, MasterCard, American
Express and Discover. Payments are scheduled to be charged
automatically on the contract's renewal date.

Do
you offer technical support to customers?
Yes. We encourage our customers to send email
to support@commerceblvd.com with questions or concerns about their web site. We are relatively quick
to respond to support email up to about 10pm CT on week days. If we
cannot offer a solution to a concern within a reasonable timeframe, we
will invite you to call us or we'll call you directly.

How
long does it take to set up a new account?
Orders submitted before 7pm which include
payment information will be processed the same day! Once an account is
set up, an activation notice will be sent to you via email including a
userid, password, and FTP hostname. You can begin uploading files to
your new web site immediately. Domain account users will be given their
own IP address to access their site via the web prior to the completion
of either domain registration or transfer.

Why
doesn't Commerce Blvd offer plans with unlimited bandwidth?
We have done our homework and provide a fair
value in our plans. Our bandwidth prices not only include bandwidth, but
also CPU. So when a site becomes very popular, we have to provide
adequate bandwidth and CPU. Many providers assume that their server(s)
will crash at a certain point so they do not meter traffic. What happens
to the rest of the paying customers on that server? To accommodate the
high volume niche, we have a high volume plan and the next step is a
dedicated server. Performance is not cheap and we have to keep expanding
if we want to be leaders. Monitoring bandwidth and CPU utilization
closely assures that we offer the best performance and reliability in
the industry. Our policy also prevents abusive customers who have little
regard for acceptable internet conduct.

When a customer
purchases web hosting services from Commerce Blvd, we will honor a
"price-freeze" on the current plan rate, ensuring that your
cost for that service will never be increased.

What is your 30 day money back guarantee policy?Each
of Commerce Blvd's web hosting plans carries a 30 day money back
guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with our services
within the first 30 days of your contract, you will be given a
full refund of the contract amount excluding any setup fees and
domain registration charges.
NOTE: This policy does not apply to our E-Commerce Plans due to the license agreement required by Mercantec for a minimum of 90 days. It also does not apply to any additional services such as overages, disk space, pop accounts, etc. Please
